In Tenet Healthcare Cases III, Judicial Council Coordination Proceeding No. 4301 in Shasta County, California, Stephen Hackerman and Richard Frankel worked with multiple law firms, served as counsel for 325 plaintiffs and lead negotiator for all 750 plaintiffs who underwent unnecessary heart bypass surgeries at Redding Medical center in Redding, California. The case was prosecuted against the doctors and the health care company who engaged in the fraud. Following two years of litigation, the defendants settled with the victims for a total of $442 million.
