Richard Frankel

Richard Frankel joined Miller, Keeton, Bristow & Brown in 1983, and left that firm in 1991 with senior partner Dick Miller to form Miller & Frankel. During the first 12 years of his career, he primarily defended large companies in complex litigation.

Mr. Frankel’s defense experience gave him insight into how to best represent plaintiffs in cases against sizeable defendants. Since 1995, Mr. Frankel has worked almost exclusively to represent multiple plaintiffs on a contingency-fee basis.

Mr. Frankel was admitted to the Texas bar in 1983 after attending the University of Texas law school.

In Exxon Corporation v. Certain Underwriters of Lloyds of London, Richard Frankel worked as part of a team of lawyers to successfully prosecute Exxon’s claim of $780 million against its insurers to recover insurance proceeds arising from the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
